‘The Devil Is In The Details’ is a selection of images for a long-form photographic essay that focuses on the environmental, social, and economic impacts that the industrial complex has had on Los Angeles and beyond the surrounding regions. Pollution is a violent and invisible phenomenon that is associated with 100,000 to 200,000 deaths per year in the U.S., according to studies. We cannot see, feel, touch, or sometimes smell toxic air. This project aims to detail the unnoticeable, but persistent activities that influence the quality of air in communities that have historically fought at the forefront for environmental justice. These images are the consequences to the industrial complex’s workings. (2020-Present)
