In 2021, the Forbes 400 list of America’s wealthiest people showed that 89 people/families live in California, each with a minimum net worth of $2.9 billion—of these, 26 live in the Los Angeles region. Despite Los Angeles having one of the most dynamic economies in the world, it is also one of the most unequal when it comes to the cost of living.
